alt-right tweets terminated

Twitter has suspended a number of accounts associated with the US alt-right (aka right-wing extremist/white supremacist) movement backing Donald Trump. Among those banished from the microblog are Richard Spencer, Ricky Vaughn and John River. The former, who is regarded as a founding father of the movement, says the suspensions amount to deploying ‘execution squads across the alt-right’, adding that Twitter was engaging in ‘corporate Stalinism’.
“Twitter rules prohibit violent threats, harassment, hateful conduct, and multiple account abuse, and we will take action on accounts violating those policies,” Twitter says.
Earlier this year, Twitter banned leading alt-righter Milo Yiannopoulos (@nero) from the site for engaging in the harassment of Ghostbusters actor Leslie Jones. He recently intimated that anti-Trump protests in the US were likely ‘paid operations involving Soros-funded buses full of professional malcontents’. Yiannopoulos is still able to post on Facebook, Facebook-owned Instagram and Snapchat.
