Millennials fall for festival fraud
More than a quarter of millennial festival-goers have been victims of ticket scams. However, 40% of 25-34-year-olds still say they would use high-risk social media groups to grab tickets, according to research from Barclays.
And those who have already suffered from ticket fraud are also more likely to targeted by criminals multiple times, with more than one-third falling for at least three different ticketing scams in the last two years.
More than one-quarter of festival-goers believe purchasing a ticket seen on an ad on social media carries a scam risk, yet 29% still say they would purchase a ticket via this method.
And only half of festival-goers say they avoid the website or social media group where they previously fell victim to a scam.
