Moscow-based outfit Blockchain Fund has opened a hotline to support investors worried about the fate of their Bitcoin holdings. “Some people are in a panic, they don’t understand what is happening,” Elena Pikhovkina, a psychologist working on the service, told Life.ru. She added that initially the market was buoyant but that the recent downtown has caused investor concern.

"There has been an unsanctioned attempt to use computer facilities for private purposes including so-called mining,” the centre conceded in a press statement.
