Disney is getting tough with Netflix as it gears up to launch its rival Disney Plus streaming platform. The media behemoth has just announced that it is banning all Netflix advertising from its TV networks.

Netflix is estimated to have spent $1.8bn worldwide on advertising in 2018, close to 40% of which went on television ads.

Netflix will be more than a tad concerned about the upcoming Disney Plus service which will come in at just $7 a month for an offering that is close to Netflix’s $16 product. Included in the Disney mix will be content from Marvel, Pixar and Disney studios.
