China now has more than 800m online users, with the Internet penetration rate close to 58%. Also, almost three-quarters of people heading online are busy shopping and paying online, according to the latest China Internet Network Information Centre report.
Interestingly, all but 1.7% of users access the Net via their mobile devices – and over 560m people make mobile payments.
In addition, over 43% of online users go to ride-hailing services such as Didi Chuxing, and 30% used bike rental platforms. By the way, Didi boasts between 90-95% market share.
