Farewell to iTunes, x3
Finally, Apple is doing away with its clunky iTunes storefront after a very long 18 years. The digital commerce window for music, film and TV and is being discontinued to be replaced by a suite of media apps.
"The future of iTunes is not one app, but three,” the company says. And that means apps for Apple Music, Apple TV and Apple Podcasts.
The Apple TV for desktop app is also being prepared for bigger things. Not only will it continue to offer films and TV programmes to buy or rent, it will also host the Apple's TV+ subscription service for original shows when it launches later this year.
