Amazon wants an EV truck maker
Amazon and General Motors are looking to invest in cool electric pickup truck manufacturer Rivian. Any deal would bring the online behemoth and automaker minority stakes in the company.
Rivian made a splash last year when it unveiled its plans for a swish all-electric pick-up. The R1T, slated for launch in 2020, boasts an impressive 300-mile range and quad drive. It can get to 60mph from a standing start in just three seconds.
The company will build its vehicles in Illinois at a plant previously occupied by Mitsubishi.
