Inside China's tech hotel

Alibaba has opened a hotel to showcase a raft of new hospitality technologies. The 290-room FlyZoo hotel is in the online giant's hometown of Hangzhou.

The residence features tech representing what Alibaba reckons will be the hotel of the future. Cue artificial intelligence, facial recognition, voice command technology, smart home solutions in rooms, mobile payment systems, and robots, among others.

Those robots are key to Alibaba Future Hotel Management, the unit operating the place, as the company believes they will make it far smoother running than current hotels.

Automation is also busy behind the bar, with FlyZoo’s robot able to do a spot of mixology for around 20 cocktails.

Room prices start at RMB1,370 per night.
