Greenery is the name of Pantone’s 2017 colour of the year. Or 15-0343 if you want to get technical.
Pantone’s last colour of the year – Marsala 18-1438 – was clearly not colour enough. For 2016, Pantone has gone for two shades in the shape of Rose Quartz 13-1520 and Serenity 15-3919. The former is an ‘embracing rose tone’ while Serenity is a ‘cooler tranquil blue’ – think boy meets girl and you’re on the right track.
Sephora has partnered with colour brand Pantone to launch a new beauty collection based on Pantone 17-1463 Tangerine Tango to change ‘how consumers wear, feel and think about colour’.
We think it’s high time Pantone colours went into the kitchen, so thanks to Gallic food designer Emilie de Griottes who has turned her hand to tarts, and baked up a range of sweet goodies based on the Pantone colour system. Fruits rouges? 1797 C, of course.
Pantone has upgraded its myPantone app for the iPhone and iPad, which provides access to more than 13,000 colours, among them the new Pantone Plus series and Fashion + Home colours. Users can capture and extract colors from photos and snap to the closest Pantone colour, as well as automatically generate harmonious combinations.
