Winding up charging
Energyco Vattenfall is rolling out wind-powered electric vehicle chargers in the UK. The Swedish company will lean on its own wind farms to power the chargers.
Vattenfall will initially deploy and operate 20 charging points across five car parks in eastern England via its InCharge EV charging business.
The company plans to develop the InCharge network in partnerships with with public agencies, commercial property owners and fleet operators.
e-takeout: The UK is on an EV rush with Tesco recently announcing the rollout of a large charging network, while London will host a 3,000 electric vehicle fleet trial with corporates. What’s missing so far is a major renewables play – Vattenfall is a welcome addition to the game.
