The Luxembourg police force has deployed two Tesla Model S electric cars in its car fleet. The grand duchy cops made the decision to go with the Teslas last year but first had to await regulatory approval – high-speed tests were later performed at a test track in Germany.

Following those trials, one of the Teslas is now being operated as a motorway patrol vehicle, while the other is performing escort duties.

Earlier this year, Swiss police in Basel made the move to replace seven diesel vehicles with Tesla Model X SUVs. In North America the Los Angeles and Denver Police Departments are both using Model S vehicles in their fleets, while in Ontario Province the police have the Model X on the road in the form of a cruiser.
