New York Times digital-only subscription revenues of $82.5 million in the second-quarter have bettered those for print advertising revenue ($77 million) for the first time in the newspaper’s history. The Times also revealed an increase in advertising growth from the same quarter in the previous year for the first time in close to three years.

Digital-only subscription revenue has spiked 46% year-on-year, and The Times is looking to boost its digital revenues to $800 million by 2020.
