Car subscriptions are getting real traction. In the US, Mercedes-Benz has now made Atlanta its third location for its trial subs-based luxury car offering, after previously launching in Nashville and Philadelphia.

The Mercedes-Benz Collection service boasts three tiers – Signature, Reserve and Premier – with prices ranging from $1,095 to $2,995 a month depending on the product level and the location. The monthly sub includes insurance, roadside assistance and vehicle maintenance, and there are no mileage limitations. Subscribers need to pay a one-off $495 activation fee and can choose from a raft of vehicle models, from SUVs and sedans, through to cabriolets and roadsters.

The company will also test a new tier in Atlanta, offering subscriptions to its high-performance AMG models for the first time.

The company says the subscription trial has performed well so far.

“Eighty-two percent of the subscribers are new to Mercedes-Benz, and we are hitting the mark attracting younger drivers who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience the brand at such a young age.”

Subscription specialist Clutch Technologies will operate the service platform for Mercedes–Benz. The Atlanta-based company already has partnerships in place with BMW and Porsche.

US car rental firm Enterprise last week launched its Subscribe with Enterprise service in the US covering a wide range of vehicles.
