Facebook ups its Irishness

Facebook is set to quadruple the floor space at its international headquarters in Ireland, enabling it to more than double its current employee count of 4,000. The company employs engineers, legal staff, marketing and sales personnel in Dublin.

Non-domestic multinationals such as Facebook account for around one-in-10 jobs in the Irish economy. However, it’s not all plain sailing – Apple this summer began repaying illegal tax benefits to the Irish government after Brussels order it to stump up  a huge €13bn.
