EV charging piggybacks on telecoms

Deutsche Telekom is planning a quick rollout of electric vehicle chargers across Europe by leaning on its existing communications infrastructure. The German carrier will slot slow EV chargers onto existing telecoms boxes in residential areas to enable two vehicles at a time to charge.

A few hundred chargers should be up and by the end of the year.

Telekom also aims to deploy fast chargers at 100 locations that will deliver around 100kms of range in around 10 minutes.
