Brexit pushes crypto to Dublin
Leading cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is opening an office in Dublin to help it cope with any fallout from a hard Brexit. The US-based company will retain London as its European HQ but wants an Ireland operation to ensure access to the EU following a UK exit next year.
“The number of Coinbase customers in the EU grew faster than any other market in 2017,” says Tina Bhatnagar, vp of operations and technology at Coinbase. “As we scale, we need to attract the best, most qualified and passionate talent.”
She adds that the new Dublin office will complement Coinbase operations in London and host a variety of new business-related functions.
