Citymapper is offering unlimited travel in central London for £31 per week, going head to head with Transport for London’s Oyster card price of just over £35.

The Citymapper Pass subscription bundles in public transport, cycles and cab rides as it aims to deliver “all transport integrated in one place, personalised, with a comprehensive app [regular commuters] use every day”.

In the mix from the off will be Santander’s established docked bike scheme along with taxis from the Citymapper Ride service.

“Over time we will add other modes and partners such as additional cycle and cab services, car sharing, scooters and well,” the company says.

The UK firm, which launched in 2011 with its transport app, says the number of private players getting into the urban mobility business, from scooters to cycles to mopeds to shared cars, is accelerating. And it’s these outfits Citymapper is getting into bed with for its subscription offer.
