Uber, Cabify exit Barcelona
Barcelona has put a stop to ride-hailing services following a cab strike in the Catalan capital. The city’s new restrictions mean that both the UberX and Cabify services have been suspended.
The new rules require vehicles to be booked with at least 15 minutes’ notice. Uber said that meant it had no choice but to suspend UberX while it assesses its future in Barcelona.
Spanish outfit Cabify said the move meant the ‘direct expulsion of the Cabify app” and accused the city of caving into the pressure of the taxi sector.
