Now electric means pickup too
Americans have long loved pickup trucks, but can they learn to love electric pickup trucks? Start-up Rivian’s R1T might just do the job. For one, it has 300-mile range as standard, or up to 400 with a mega pack. Plus there’s quad drive.
Not enough? Well, this pickup boasts a wading depth of around one metre – ‘taking EVs where they’ve never gone before’, according to Rivian. And as it has no bulky engine, there’s a 330-litre front storage area under the nose.
What about that 0-60 metric? A mere three seconds.
Production is slated to start in 2020. The starting price $61,500 after tax rebate.
