This robot can parkour

Boston Dynamics has built a robot able to parkour. That’s to say that Atlas can do the basics, and hopefully has still more tricks in the pipeline.

The machine’s software uses the whole body, including legs, arms and torso to leap over a log and then up a set of steps without breaking stride. Atlas leans on computer vision to locate itself via markers on the approach to hit the terrain with precision.

Still, robot movement like this does look a tad spooky…
