Zappa plays hologram
Frank Zappa is going on the road as a hologram. The legendary musician’s The Bizarre World Of Frank Zappa hologram tour is slated to do five venues in the UK this May featuring Zappa performance footage from the early seventies.
The tour band will comprise former bandmates, with special guests set to join in. The initiative, put developed by tech outfit Eyellusion and Ahmet Zappa, a co-trustee of the Zappa Family Trust, is aiming to celebrate the music with surreal imagery associated with the artist.
“We are anthropomorphising Frank’s music, so his own hand drawn illustrations, classic imagery from his album artwork and characters from his songs can all interact and perform on stage,” says Ahmet Zappa.
