The music business has it first streaming-first indie label with the rollout of Humble Angel Records. The new digital imprint is the baby of Kieron Donoghue, former vp of global playlist strategy and curation at Warner Music.

And Donoghue has a history here, having launched Warner’s own streaming-driven label, Artists to Watch Records, in March 2017. Artists To Watch output managed to pull in some 55m Spotify streams, but there have been no releases for a number of months.

Humble Angel Records' very first release is from London artist Jazz Mino, in the form of a cover of Together in Electric Dreams.

Humble Angel Records is promising a better deal for artists with double the major average for royalties, and payments on a monthly rather than a yearly rate.
