Co-working outfit WeWork is flexing its muscles in building a sports technology-focused collaborative workspace in Boston together with the Sports Innovation Lab. The new facility will be home to the lab’s sports market research activities, as well as providing space for tech companies operating in the sports sector.

The partners say the co-working space is designed to encourage collaboration among established and emerging sports technology brands as well as foster a ‘shared interest in the future of sports technology’.

The new workspace is slated to open in early-2018, with the lab saying it chose to ally with WeWork because it has led the way in the development of modern collaborative work-spaces.

The Sports Innovation Lab is also partnering with the Consumer Technology Association to produce the CES Sports Zone at CES 2018 in January. Conference programming will include discussions about the future of OTT sports broadcast, the intersection of esports and traditional sports, and the emerging field of precision nutrition.
