A merry bot

Agency Grey London has rolled out Marks & Spencer’s first bot for Facebook Messenger in the shape of the M&S Christmas Concierge which aims to provide inspiration to help customers plan the festive season.

Users can opt-in to receive daily tips on food, hosting and gifts, as well as browse and shop from a series of curated Christmas menus.

Grey London developed the bot after entering the Facebook Creative Shop Christmas Hackathon, a contest celebrating new work that ‘pushes the boundaries’ of brand experiences on the social network family of apps and services.

“This bot allows us to reach customers in a truly innovative way, with the perfect blend of personality and functionality,” says Vicki Maguire, joint chief creative officer at Grey London.
