Deutsche Post DHL is partnering with GLS Bank and leaser Comco to develop leasing services for the German logistics group’s in-house StreetScooter electric delivery vehicle. The three firms are looking to offer attractive leasing rates on flexible contracts to help reduce fleet CO2 emissions in Germany.

The StreetScooter van began life at RWTH Aachen University before being snapped up by Deutsche Post. It is Germany’s first mass-produced electric utility vehicle and has a range of 80 kms, which makes it suitable for last-mile delivery services.

Dirk Kannacher, CEO of GLS Bank, which specialises in green social finance, says society needs a different kind of mobility with “forward-looking mobility concepts around sharing and clean driving to protect our environment”.
