No more Kinect-edness

Microsoft has killed off its much-vaunted Kinect depth sensing and facial recognition system for the Xbox. The device, which used the player’s body as an interface, bowed toward end-2010 as motion-controlled gaming was on-trend, racking up 35 million unit sales. The kit was ahead of its time in that it leaned heavily on machine learning.

Now look at for Apple for Kinect-edness – the iPhone X goes on sale next week and will include depth-sensing cameras.
