Imperial College London has launched its Central Working White City hub in London providing space for over 400 start-ups, scale-ups and established firms. Residents will get access to Imperial’s network of researchers, academics and other corporate partners.

The hub’s first member is OGCI Climate Investments, a start-up with $1billion of funding from leading oil and gas companies to invest in technologies to reduce the emissions footprint of the sector.

Imperial is allying with workspace provider Central Working for the new White City location and the two partners have also announced the Scalable Business Award to provide five promising technology companies with support worth a total £250,000. The initiate is open to companies with teams of between two and five which are developing technology or a business that has potential to ‘transform an industry’.
