Vroom VR

The virtual reality sector is set to grow 64% a year for the next five years to become a $5 billion industry in the US by 202, according to PwC forecasts. And while video games are considered the low-hanging fruit of VR, building as it does on an already-established interactive experience, video will ultimately prove to be the bigger business.

The Hollywood Reporter points to 21st Century Fox as one of the most active participants. It soon plans to release a VR short to promote its 14 July film release War for the Planet of the Apes, in which the viewer becomes an ape, Plus it partnered with Ridley Scott's RSA Films for a short promoting Alien: Covenant, which was viewed 4 million times.
