Le start-up

France needs another revolution to enable to become a country that "thinks and moves like a start-up”, French President Emmanuel Macron told the Viva Technology conference in Paris. He added that the state should act as an enabler, not a constraint, for innovators and entrepreneurs. Macron is promising to create a single levy of 30% on capital income so as not to scare businesses away.

"Everywhere, women and men want to innovate,” he said. “France is in the middle of becoming a nation of start-ups.”

Macron is pumping in the cash too. Bpifrance, the state investment bank which is the country’s leading venture capital fund, said earlier this week that is increasing its investment pot to €1 billion, reports Reuters.
