Three for the IoT
Breed Reply, a London-based incubator for European and US start-ups specialising in the Internet of Things, has inked term sheets with three outfits in the health, smart home and energy sectors. Breed Reply says it received 130-plus applications from around the world for its first IoT Best in Breed initiative.
Italy’s BrainControl is joining the incubator innovation platform with its brain-computer interface technology that interprets electrical signals corresponding to brain activity, allowing devices such as computers or tablets to be controlled by thought. In the smart home segment, UK-based Cocoon has developed a security system that utilises Subsound technology to detect unusual activity throughout the home. Dutch start-up Greeniant analyses energy consumption using data from smart meters, disaggregating information to enable end users and energy providers to see usage by appliance.
Breed Reply provides funding at seed and early stage level, know-how transfer of business, managerial and technological expertise, plus medium-term involvement to establish start-ups in their markets.
